Should the wind not blow, or you fancy taking a break from windsurfing there are a multitude of things to do on the island. As well as those activities listed on the right, some of the most popular amongst our clients are kitesurfing and mountain-biking. Both are excellent in and around El Médano and can be organised through our associates at The Shinn Centre and Bike Point.

• Trek up Mount Teide - Spain's highest mountain and the third largest volcano in the world.
• Mountaineering and climbing in the range.
• Go surfing at one of the island's many surf spots.
• Play a round of golf at one of the island's famous courses.
• Deep-water fishing is available from various ports, such as Los Gigantes.
• Take an excursion from one of three ports to watch whales and dolphins.
• Visit Loro Parque in the north of the island - a world-renowned zoo, ideal for families.
• Take advantage of the popular shops in the island's capital Santa Cruz.

The Shinn Centre
Mark Shinn is one of kitesurfing's pioneers, cleaning up in pretty much every competition around the world in 2002. Leaving the tour a few years ago, he has since become the man behind kiteboard brand Nobile, taking it from relative obscurity to become the market leader in board technology and performance today. His centre is housed in the same building as The OTC and stocks all the latest Nobile and Shinn range as well as the very latest kites from the industry's leading brands. Bike Point
Bike Point is a specific bike shop located in the centre of town, run by the familiar faces of Björn, Harald and Christophe formally of The Fun Factory. These guys are true foundations within the town, and are always tirelessly helpful and friendly. If there is anything about bikes that these guys don't know, then it's not worth knowing. With the latest Marin's and Cannondale's available to rent, you can simply hire and find your own way, or take advantage of their fantastic tours, tailor-made to suit your ability.
